Ibis Ripmo

The Ibis Ripmo could be the love child of the HD4 and the Ripley and fills the gap in the Ibis portfolio. Up until now Ibis was known for its conservative geometries but with its long reach the Ripmo can’t exactly be described as old-fashioned. With 160 mm of travel at the front, 145 mm at the back and 29″ wagon wheels the Ripmo should be able to take a lot of abuse and the DW-Link at the back will provide good climbing characteristics.

The relatively steep steering angle of 65.9° and the shorter 44 mm fork-offset are designed to strike an optimal compromise between riding smoothness and manoeuvrability. The 435 mm chainstays are pretty short and should benefit the playful handling of the Ripmo. Unfortunately the Ripmo also comes with the trademark Ibis price tag — the cheapest spec option starts at € 5,098 whilst the high-end version costs a mind-boggling € 9,798.
