Fox Flux MIPS

The first version of the Fox Flux was released over 12 years ago and has been a bestseller ever since. The latest incarnation of the FOX-classic has been thoroughly revised and offers a strong overall package. The look is a mix of classic and modern elements and the “bend” on the front of the helmet gives it an unmistakable character. The internal four-point strap-system and the handy dial make for an easy fit and the majority of our test riders got in with it right away. On the inside, a number of multi-density EPS liners and a MIPS system ensure a high degree of safety. Compared to other helmets in our test, the shell of the Flux is rather small, and the back of the helmet doesn’t reach as far down the neck as other models.

Deep air-ducts provide great ventilation, and even on hot days the Fox Flux MIPS keeps your head nice and cool. The short visor is a bit stiff and doesn’t allow for easy on-the-fly adjustments. Additionally if you wear goggles, the Flux shouldn’t be your number one choice. Weighing in at 390 g, the Fox Flux MIPS is relatively heavy, but apart from this, the Flux doesn’t have any real weaknesses. The Fidlock buckle is easy to operate and the comfortable fit is second to none. The naked EPS foam on the upper-side can get easily dented, which is a small detail that clouds the overall good impression. The underside of the shell, however, is fully protected. The price of 145 € is reasonable and makes the Fox a very attractive choice.
